I wonder why is Cana and Gildarts have different surnames. They are father and daughter right? So why?

I know Cana isn’t that shippable but I could see her with Laxus, Gray, or Loki. I don’t know why.

I feel like people only ship Laxana because Laxus asked Cana to strip for him.
